Scoop on How to Get a Great Photo
Email your photos in JPEG file format. Please do not crop or resize your photo before sending, as your photo should be in its original size. Let us know in the email if you're looking for a particular cropping or result. (Black and white, sepia tone, etc.) Any photo manipulation is subject to a design fee.
Although we will do our best to improve the quality of your photo, a poor quality image will yield a poor quality result. The following photo tips can really make all the difference!
For a beautiful result take or choose a photo that:
- Is well lit with natural light.
- Try shooting under a tree in the daytime.
- Photos taken in sunset light are really beautiful.
- Place the subject next to, not in front of, a large window or glass door in the daytime and shoot without a flash for great side lighting. Use the portrait mode of your camera for this.
- It's best to avoid photos with dark or unpleasant color casts.
- Avoid photos with harsh flash shadows behind the subject.
- Camera flashes can produce unattractive, sharp shadows. Set your camera to the nighttime setting for a better result when you must use a flash.
- Choose a photo that best fills the frame of your chosen card.
